Mckay Trading Partnership was originally involved in the purchase, storage and sale of agriculture products beginning in 1978.  This was  an arm of a lager corporate structure founder by Kelly Grodzins, Jim’s father.

Then focused on wealth management systems.  Active trading systems in commodity and equity markets beginning in the 1990’s.

Job Experience

Managing Partner, Mc Kay Trading Partnership; Chicago, Illinois — 1991-2010

Managed all aspects of small office.  Pork products a main stay of the business.  In house software design and development.  Trading portfolio of stocks and commodities. 

Software developed

Warehousing System for Pork Products: Designed and maintained system in Foxbase RDBS software.  Allowed the keying in of new lots of product or transfer existing lots into Public Freezer Warehouses around the country.  Involved financing of product with collateralized Negotiable Warehouse Receipts.  Delivery to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange also involved.  Finally outright sale to smokehouses.

Trading System:  Set up accounting software which integrated a stock equities trading and futures hedging back-end system with quickbooks software.  Designed SQL database with Microsoft Access front-end.  Downloaded data from brokerage and banking systems to local database.  Linked current market prices live to all current open positions in excel. End of Period Profit and Loss statements generated for each trading position.

Cornucopia Reporting System:  Visual basic .NET--Query, filter and report designer integrated with the Trading System.  Allowed fast and sophisticated design and storage of queries and reports based on a tree structure of variables.

Folder System:  Created folder filing system to organize file cabinets, drawers, hanging sections and manila folders.  Printed Labels and reports on selected items.

Property System:  Photo based entry screen that allowed the user to create a record showing backup data for personal property:  Classes were used to divide items into categories such as fine art, silver, jewelry, carpets, objects-of-art.  Reports can be viewed or printed.
